Weddings & Engagements
“A wedding album is much more than a record of who attended and what they wore,” says photographer Darren Miles. “From the first engagement photo, through the showers, rehearsal dinners, ceremony and reception, wedding photos should evoke hope and celebration of the day, and the anticipation of the years to come. Decades from now, the images should serve as a poetic reminder of the promise made in the company family and close friends.”
Darren approaches weddings with a style that melds formal portraiture and a photo journalistic ideal, because weddings themselves are a beautiful combination of careful planning and spirited happening.
“The camera lens is both a guest at the wedding and one of the thousand details assembled to celebrate the beginning of a new marriage,” he says. “There are planned portraits to be taken, of course, but as apart of the party rather than a distraction. There are works of art to be crafted with bride and groom as subject, but I’m always looking for the spark of tiny candid moments that can capture the feeling of the day.”
